Cedric came to us in dire condition.  He was extremely underweight, had terribly neglected feet, joint pain, and lots of wounds.  He appeared to have rain rot & strangles, a common respiratory disease found in auction houses and feedlots.  Apparently he was "beat up" by another horse waiting to go to slaughter.  His arrival was greeted with tears of sadness and joy for his new-found safety.

Cedric is a sweet, old gentleman.  He absolutely adores Aviva, the mare we rescued with him, as well as, his new partner, Sharon Adams.  Cedric has gained quite a bit of weight, yet has a lot more to go.  His skin issues are healing quite well - Sharon has tried a variety of natural treatments, with good success.

Sharon Adams, our VP, chose to adopt him (and pay the killer buyer's inflated fee) sight unseen to
save him the terrible ordeal of going to slaughter.  Their immediate bond was striking.

Note: Cedric was rescued due to the good works of Ms. Amber Herrell of Shiloh Acres
She has established a relationship with the nation's #1 killer buyer where he allows her to
visit his feedlot, take photos, and information and send it to other rescues and interested
people in the area.  This effort has saved hundred's of horses lives.
